Curatorial Fellowship

Anja Lückenkemper is an independent curator, researcher, and writer based in Berlin, Germany. Her practice focuses on an analysis of the present in its historical and global embedding, with a special interest in the construction of knowledge and knowledge production. She is currently pursuing a practice-based curatorial PhD research titled „Botanic Fictions: On the Political Narratives of Plants“ at the Zurich University of the Arts (CH) and the University of Reading (GB) on critical ecologies, decoloniality, and questions of ongoing extractivism. Anja is co-initiator and curator of GOSSIP GOSSIP GOSSIP, a platform for performative events and exhibitions in Berlin’s urban space – with a programme focussing on the productive potentials of ‚gossip‘ as a queer-feminist strategy of resistance, solidarity, and knowledge production. She has worked internationally in institutional as well as non-institutional contexts, in 2016/17 she was artistic director at Kunstverein Göttingen and she has curated projects and exhibitions for art institutions such as KW Institut for Contemporary Art Berlin (DE), Artspace Tel-Aviv (IL), daad Gallery Berlin (DE), Goethe-Institut Athen (GR), and Kunsthalle Osnabrück (DE) and others. She continues to publish and write for artist publications and exhibition catalogues on contemporary art.

 

Artists for Artists Residency Network (AFAR) is an EU co-funded project and residency program, aiming to improve the mobility of contemporary visual artists and curators in Romania, Germany, Croatia, and Austria. The project is led by the Romanian Association for Contemporary Art (ARAC) with its three consortium partners – Goethe Institute Network, Croatian Association of Fine Artists, and Künstlerhaus Vienna.
